Specific Flower Care
- Thoroughly clean stems and remove all foliage. The leaves rot easily and will shorten the life of the flower if left on the stem.
- The heads of the blooms may ‘nod’ and look down. This normal and just a part of the natural beauty!
- Keep water level lower than typical – approximately 1/4 the height of the stem. This helps prevent stem rot and keeps blooms fresh.

Recipes are made to be tweaked, but here is a general rule of thumb for quantities of matsumoto asters:
- Bridal Bouquet: 5-7 stems
- Bridesmaid Bouquet: 3-5 stems
- Boutineers: 1 stem
- Corsages: 1-2 stems
- Centerpieces: 4-5 stems
- Large Arrangements: N/A – too small of bloom
